How to play

Download the money memory game printable below. There are two pages included with 24 different images and they will print out in portrait. Make sure to check the printer settings.

This free printable money game is free to print but is for personal or classroom use only. Scroll to the bottom of the page to get the pdf file.

There are two fun ways you can play this money-matching game.

Match the money game

The first game is the easier game.

Print out 2 copies of both sheets, (or just 2 copies of the game you prefer).

The children can also make colorful designs on the reverse.

If you are going to laminate them make sure you do this before you start cutting.

Two sheets of a printable Money Memory Game are displayed, each showing illustrated U.S. currency including various denominations of bills and coins. The images feature presidents on the bills and realistic coin designs like pennies, nickels, and quarters. The activity is designed to help children recognize and match different forms of money.

When you have printed the 2 pages, you will need to cut out all of the different images.

I prefer to use a paper cutter as it’s easier, quicker, and more accurate, but scissors will work too.

A paper trimmer is being used to cut out pieces from a printable Money Memory Game. The printed pieces include images of U.S. currency such as $1 and $10 bills and various coins like pennies and quarters. Several small rectangular cards with coin illustrations are scattered around the trimmer, ready to be used in the memory game.

Now you will have two sets of 12 images (so 24 total images.)

Shuffle them up and lay them on the table face down in rows to make it easier, or just randomly on the table for older kids.

If you are placing them in rows I find 4 rows with 6 images each works best for the memory game.

A money-themed memory game is in progress with 20 cards arranged in a grid. Some cards are flipped to reveal images of a $10 bill and one cent coins, while the rest remain face-down. The setup is on a white surface, encouraging children to match money values through play.

Playing the game is simple.

Take it in turn to turn over only 2 images.

If it is a match you can either remove them from the game and place them in front of you or leave them turned over face up.

If it is not a pair then just return the cards face down. Continue playing until all pairs have been matched.

The winner is the person who creates the most matches.

Teaching kids about money is so important and you can continue learning with our coin identification worksheet.

Match the money to the shopping game

The second game is slightly harder.

Print out the 2 worksheets, you only need to print them once.

If you are going to laminate them make sure you do this before you start cutting.

Two printable money memory game sheets are shown side by side. The left sheet features images of U.S. bills and coins, while the right sheet displays everyday items with corresponding prices, such as $100 for a car and 5¢ for a cookie. The activity is designed to teach kids about currency and value matching in a fun, visual way.

When you have printed the 2 pages, you will need to cut out all of the different images.

I prefer to use a paper cutter as it’s easier, quicker, and more accurate, but scissors will work too.

A paper trimmer is shown cutting out money memory game cards featuring illustrated U.S. bills and coins. Beside the trimmer are cut-out cards with images of items like a car labeled $100, sneakers labeled $50, a backpack labeled $20, and books labeled $10, part of an educational game for kids to match money to prices.

Now you will have one set of 24 different images.

Shuffle them up and lay them on the table face down in rows to make it easier, or just randomly on the table for older kids.

If you are placing them in rows I find 4 rows with 6 images each works best for the memory game.

A memory matching game in progress featuring printable cards with images of U.S. currency and items. Some cards are flipped, revealing a $1 bill, a 1¢ candy, a 4¢ cookie, a penny coin, and a $100 pink car. Most cards remain face-down on the white playing surface.

Playing the game is slightly harder, as you have to match the image of the money to the correct value item. For example, match the $100 bill with the $100 car.

This is a great way to add some math into the fun and teach kids all about counting money.

Take it, in turn, to turn over only 2 images.

If it is a match you can either remove them from the game and place them in front of you or leave them turned over face up.

If it is not a matching pair just turn it back over. Continue playing until you have matched all 12 pairs.

The winner is the person who creates the most matches.

Or you can play a mix of the 2 money games.
