Using this weather pattern worksheet is both simple and fun!
Start by printing the worksheet on standard paper or cardstock for added durability.
Supplies needed
- Printable weather patterns worksheet (printed on paper or cardstock)
- Child-safe scissors for cutting out the weather symbols
- Glue stick or glue for pasting the symbols in the correct spot
- Optional: Laminator and Velcro dots for making a reusable version
Kids will carefully cut out the weather symbols at the bottom of the page.
Once the pieces are ready, they can look at the incomplete patterns and identify which symbol is missing. The final step is pasting the correct symbol in the blank spot to complete each pattern.
This activity is ideal for developing both pattern recognition and fine motor skills. It’s perfect for classroom lessons, homeschooling, or as a quiet activity at home on a rainy day.

- Wind, rainbow, lightning, wind, rainbow: Alternating between windy and colorful rainbow weather, with a missing lightning symbol.
- Sun, sun, rainbow, sun, sun: Repeating sunny days with a rainbow in between, prompting the child to identify the missing rainbow.
- Wind, lightning, wind, lightning: Alternating wind and lightning storms, with the final wind symbol missing.
- Lightning, sun, sun, lightning, sun: After a lightning storm, the sun appears twice, with the last sunny spot left blank.
- Rain, rain, lightning, rain: Two rainy days followed by lightning, with the final rainy day missing.
