Spring Handprint Crafts
Spring is full of color, new beginnings, and plenty of creative opportunities.
Handprint crafts are an easy way to capture this special time while making something meaningful with your kids.
In our house, these projects are a go-to, especially on rainy afternoons when we need an indoor activity.
My son loves choosing his own colors, and I love how these keepsakes show how much he’s grown year after year.
If you already have paint and paper at home, you’re halfway there!
Our handprint art make it easy to create something special—without the stress of designing your own templates.
Supplies You’ll Need
- Cardstock – Sturdier than regular paper, making keepsakes last longer. I always use it because it holds up better with paint-heavy crafts.
- Washable paints – Bright, kid-friendly, and easy to clean—trust me, that last part is important!
- Paintbrush – A small brush helps apply paint evenly, especially for tiny fingers.
- Wipes – You’ll thank yourself for having these nearby when cleanup time comes!

Once you’ve received your free templates, getting started is simple:
- Set your printer to 8.5″ x 11″ portrait orientation for the best results.
- Use cardstock for a polished, long-lasting finish—though regular printer paper works in a pinch.
Now you’re ready for the fun part—painting and creating your own spring masterpiece!
Fingerprint Flowers
This craft is always a hit in our house—it’s simple, colorful, and great for all ages. My son loves choosing his own paint colors, and I love seeing how each flower turns out a little different.
- Let your child pick bright colors (or match them to your home decor).
- Use a small paintbrush to apply a thin layer of paint to each fingertip.
- Help them press their fingers onto the stems in the template.
- For a fun ombre effect, blend two colors on one finger before stamping.
Once dry, frame it or add a personal note for a heartfelt gift. Last year, we made a flower for each grandparent, and they loved having a little piece of his childhood captured in art.
Sunny Spring Flowers
This cheerful flower design is a fun way to welcome the season. We used yellow because it felt bright and happy, but any color works!
- Paint your child’s hand and press it onto the stem in the template.
- Let it dry, then add their name and the date—something I always do to remember these little moments.
My favorite part? The giggles when my son’s painted hand hit the paper!
Hello Spring Design
This one holds a special place in my heart—it’s simple but full of personality, and it makes me smile every time I see it.
- Pick a bold color—we went with orange, and it turned out great!
- Paint their hand and press it onto the template.
- Add a little glitter (because why not?) for some extra sparkle.
Now it’s a bright and happy addition to our fridge gallery!
Bouquet of Flowers
This classic design is a family favorite. Every year, we make a new bouquet for my parents, and they love seeing how much my son’s handprint has grown over time.
- Paint their hand and press it onto the stems.
- Once dry, add a ribbon or a personal message.
- Use multiple colors for a layered effect—kids always get creative with this one!
A simple, thoughtful craft that makes a beautiful keepsake.
