Spring handprint crafts
Spring is my favorite season for getting creative with my son, it’s the perfect excuse to pull out the paints and make a colorful mess!
These springtime art projects are not just crafts; they’re keepsakes that capture the joy of childhood.
If you’re anything like me, you probably already have most of what you need at home, and the templates make it so easy to get started.
Supplies we use every time
- cardstock – A must for sturdy keepsakes that last (plus, it just looks better).
- washable paints – I swear by this brand because it’s vibrant, kid-friendly, and cleans up easily.
- paintbrush – A small one works wonders for those tiny fingers.
- Wipes – Trust me, you’ll thank yourself for having these nearby!
Printing the handprint templates
This part is super simple, but a few tips make it easier:
Download the templates using the link below.
Set your printer to 8.5″ x 11″ portrait orientation for the best results.
Cardstock is always my go-to because it keeps the final artwork looking polished and professional, even if little hands get carried away.
You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.
Fingerprint flower art
This project is a favorite in our house—it’s simple, colorful, and perfect for all ages.
My son loves picking out his paint colors, and I love seeing how unique each flower turns out.
Let your child choose a mix of bright colors (or match them to your home decor).
Use a small paintbrush to apply a thin layer of paint to each fingertip.
Help them press their fingers onto the stems in the template.
Pro Tip: If they want to experiment, try blending two colors on one finger for a fun ombre effect!
Let the paint dry, then frame it or add a personal note to turn it into a heartfelt gift.
This craft is more than just an art project—it’s a memory. Last year, we made a flower for each grandparent, and they loved seeing the tiny fingerprints frozen in time.
Spring time handprint art
This handprint flower is such a fun way to welcome the season.
We used yellow for ours because it felt sunny and cheerful, but the color options are endless.
Once the print dries, you can add their name and the date—something I always do to remember these little moments.
Paint their hand and press it onto the stem in the template.
Watching my son’s giggles when his painted hand hit the paper is honestly my favorite part.
Hello spring handprint
This Hello Spring design holds a special place in my heart. It’s simple yet full of personality, and every time I see it, it makes me smile.
Choose a bold color—I love how orange turned out for ours!
Paint their hand and press it onto the template.
We added a bit of glitter (because why not?), and it instantly became a centerpiece for our fridge gallery.
Flowers handprint printable
This one is a classic! Every year, we create a new bouquet for my parents, and they keep them all. It’s a sweet way to see how much my son has grown.
Once dry, add some personal touches like a ribbon or a little message.
Paint their hand and press it onto the stems.
Use multiple colors for a layered effect—I love how creative kids can get with this!
