Supplies needed
To create your personalized gift tags, gather the following supplies:
- Cardstock (or Printer Paper): For a sturdier and more durable gift tag, opt for cardstock. However, regular printer paper will also work if that’s what you have on hand.
- Coloring pens, Crayola crayons, or coloring pencils: Choose your preferred coloring tools to make the tags vibrant and colorful.
- Paper cutter or Scissors: A paper cutter is handy for achieving precise edges, but a pair of scissors will do the job effectively as well.
- Single hole punch: This tool is essential for creating a hole in your gift tags, allowing you to thread the gift tag string through easily.
- Gift tag string: Select a festive string or ribbon to attach your gift tags to the presents. This could range from colorful yarn to traditional red or green ribbons, depending on your desired look.
How to use
To start, print out the Christmas gift tags below; they will print in portrait orientation across three full pages. Make sure to check your printer settings before printing.
While you can print on normal printer paper, we recommend cardstock for a more polished look. I find it easier to color the tags before cutting them, but the choice is yours!
These free Christmas tag printables include three pages featuring:
A Christmas tree, two nutcrackers, a Christmas ornament, and a gingerbread man.
An Elf with a Christmas letter, an Elf on the Shelf, a Christmas tree, and a mailbox with a letter to Santa.
A Christmas tree, a Christmas angel, an Elf with Christmas gifts, and another gingerbread man.
Once you’ve colored them all in, it’s time to cut them out. I prefer using a paper cutter for the straight lines and scissors for the more intricate parts.
Next, take your single hole punch and make a hole in the circle at the top of each tag for the gift tag string.
Aren’t they adorable? After cutting and coloring, all that’s left is to flip them over and write your personalized message!
