Penguin matching game printable
This penguin-themed memory game is both fun and educational, designed to engage young learners as they develop their memory skills.
The free printable features various penguin images that kids will enjoy matching, creating a simple yet engaging activity for preschoolers and young children.
Supplies needed:
- cardstock (normal paper will work, but you might be able to see the images through it)
- Crayola crayons, or coloring pencils (if you want to decorate the back of the cards)
- paper cutter or scissors
- laminator (optional)
How to play
Download the penguin game below. The printable includes one page with 12 unique penguin images.
You will need to print this page out twice to create a full set of matching pairs.
If you’d like, use crayons or coloring pencils to decorate the backs of the cards. First, cut out the 12 images from each page by trimming around the border.
Then just grab your coloring pens (these are the ones we love and use all the time) and have fun.
Once you have both pages printed, cut out all 24 images. A paper cutter makes this quicker and more precise, but scissors work too.
Shuffle the cards and lay them face down on a table. For younger kids, arranging them in rows (4 rows of 6) works well, while older kids might enjoy a more random layout.
Players take turns flipping over two cards. If they find a matching pair, they can keep those cards or leave them face up. Play continues until all matches are found.
The player with the most matching pairs at the end wins!
