Easter Photo Scavenger Hunt for Teens and Tweens
An Easter photo scavenger hunt is one of the only Easter activities my teen still gets excited about. He’s outgrown egg hunts, but hand him a phone and a challenge, and he’s in.
This twist on a classic keeps tweens and teens entertained, lets them be creative, and gives them a reason to actually want to go outside with their siblings or friends.
It’s low-prep, high-fun, and something they’ll remember.

Easter Scavenger Hunt for Teens
This Easter cell phone scavenger hunt works best when you split the kids into small teams and send them out for a walk—phones in hand and energy to burn. I suggest at least two kids per group, but more makes it even better.
Each team should have a phone (not usually an issue), but a polaroid or digital camera works too if you want to go old-school. I like using phones because it’s easy to keep tabs on where they are, especially if younger siblings tag along.
Before they head out, go over a few basic rules:
- Stick with your group
- Snap a photo of each item on the list
- Be back within the hour (set a phone timer)
- Have fun—and get creative!
If you’re working with mixed ages, it helps to put one older teen in each group. You can also set clear neighborhood boundaries depending on how far you’re comfortable letting them roam.
One more tip: those clipboards with storage compartments are surprisingly useful. They can stash phones, pencils, and even small prizes for the end.
