How to play
Playing holiday scattergories is a fantastic way to spice up any Cinco de Mayo party with some competitive fun. This game is super easy to play and suitable for all ages, ensuring everyone can join in on the fiesta. Here’s how to get started:
First, print out the fiesta scattergories boards. Each board features a unique Cinco de Mayo-themed word at the top.
This party game printable works well for both small and large groups. You can divide the players into teams or let everyone play individually, depending on your preference and the number of participants.
Explain to the players that they’ll use the letters of the word at the top of their board to come up with answers for each category. For example, if the word is ‘taco’, their answers for each category must start with one of the letters in ‘taco’.
Set a time limit for each round, usually 2 to 5 minutes is good. Players must think quickly and come up with a word that fits each category, starting with one of the letters from the word at the top of their game sheet.
Start the timer and let the players fill in their boards. Each player or team will jot down their answers in the corresponding sections. Being creative and thinking fast is the name of the game!
Once the time is up, players take turns sharing their answers. Points are given for unique answers, if two players have the same word, neither gets points for it. Typically, one point is awarded for each unique answer.
For extra fun, play multiple rounds using different boards to keep things interesting and challenge players to think outside the box.
The player or team with the most points at the end of all rounds wins the holiday game.
