Birthday books for kids

These are some of our favorite birthday-themed books to read together, especially when we’re getting ready for a special day or want to keep the celebration going.

  • Happy Birthday to You!. This Dr. Seuss classic is loud, silly, and full of fun. The rhymes are perfect for reading out loud, and the birthday message always gets a big smile.
  • Happy Birthday from The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We’ve always loved Eric Carle’s bright illustrations, and this book is no exception. It’s sweet, simple, and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who already adore the Hungry Caterpillar.
  • Happy Birthday, Mouse! This one is always a hit with kids who love the “If You Give…” series. Mouse is planning a party, and the story is just the right mix of fun and familiar chaos.
