Handprint art for Mother’s Day

You likely have everything you need at home to dive into these delightful Mother’s Day handprint art projects with your little ones.

This craft is not only fun but also incredibly heartwarming, allowing preschoolers to create something beautiful and meaningful with their own hands.

Craft supplies needed

  • cardstock (or white paper)
  • washable paints (these are the ones we use for all of our handprint crafts)
  • paintbrush
  • Wipes!! It helps to have these handy so you don’t make a complete mess of your table!

How to use

These free templates are free to print but are for personal or classroom use only. Scroll to the bottom of the page to get the pdf file.

Print out the templates below, they will print out on five full pages. They will print in portrait on 8.5″ x 11″ paper, so make sure to check the printer settings.

You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.

The first Mother’s Day handprint is the dinosaur one, my love for you will never go extinct with Happy Mother’s Day written at the bottom, and it will look like this:

Grab the supplies above and get creating!

Let the messy little monster decide what color to paint their little hands. We opted for a light blue handprint, but you could choose whatever color you want.

Use a foam brush to add a thin layer of paint to their hand. You could use a handprint dish if the children find the brush too tickly.

Make sure you have the wipes handy!!

Cover their hand with paint and place their hand down under the neck of the dinosaur.

Press down all along their hand to make sure the handprint transfers fully.

Pull the child’s hand up carefully making sure you don’t smudge them.

Giraffe handprint art

No matter how tall I grow, I will always look up to you. This is such a super cute printable Mom is going to love it so much this Mother’s Day.

Let the kids decide what color handprints they want to use. We opted for a traditional yellow, but you could choose whatever colors you want.

Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their hand. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!

Cover their hand with paint and place their hand down under the neck of the giraffe. Press down all along their hand to make sure the handprint transfers fully.

Pull the child’s hand up carefully making sure you don’t smudge them. When it is completely dry you could always add some googly eyes to the giraffe for an even more adorable gift.

Let’s treat grandma this year with these adorable heart footprint crafts. I love you from the bottom of my heart to the tip of my toes.

Grab the supplies above, and get creating!

Let the kids decide what color footprints they want to use. We opted for a traditional red, but you could choose whatever colors you want.

Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their feet. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!

Cover their feet with paint and place their feet down on top of the heart in a small v shape. Press down all along their feet to make sure the footprint transfers fully.

Pull the child’s feet up carefully making sure you don’t smudge them.

I have added this one twice, one from just one child and the other from multiple children.

Grab the supplies above, get your child’s handprint, and get creating!
