Space memory game printable
This printable solar system memory game is easy to set up and makes a fun addition to any space-themed lesson.
What you’ll need:
- cardstock (regular paper works, but cardstock prevents images from showing through)
- paper cutter or scissors
- laminator (optional for durability)
Instructions for setup:
Grab the planet memory game below. It includes 12 unique planet images on one page. Adjust your printer settings as needed and print two copies to create matching pairs.
Encourage kids to decorate the backs of the cards. This adds a personal touch and helps prevent any peeking!
Use a paper cutter for quick, accurate cuts or scissors if that’s easier. Once cut, you’ll have two sets of 12 cards, ready for play.
How to play
Once your cards are ready, shuffle all 24 and lay them face down on a table.
For younger kids, lay them out in rows (6 rows of 4 cards works well). For older kids, scatter them randomly for more of a challenge.
Players take turns flipping over two cards. If they match, the player keeps the pair. If not, turn them back over, and the next player takes their turn.
Continue until all pairs are matched. The player with the most pairs wins!
This game is a fun way for kids to strengthen their memory skills while learning about the planets. Celebrate the winner with a small reward, like planet stickers!
