Free Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt Printable: Let’s Go Outside

If you are looking for ways to get the kids outside why not print out this free neighborhood scavenger hunt printable?

We love scavenger hunt printables in our home and have created lots of different ones for each of the seasons.

But what I love about this one is you are also getting the kids walking around the neighborhood getting exercise!

As we homeschool we tend to have at least 3 short walks around the community each day.

It helps us both regroup and just walk away from the books. When we first started it was a bit of a chore getting him out and about, but he now asks me for a walk.

This neighborhood hunt for kids makes it a little more fun, even for older children.

How to play

The best thing about this fun activity is it is super easy.

All you need to do is grab the free printable, grab a pen, and go for a walk.

We always use a storage clipboard so we can keep everything together, and it makes marking off the items easier.

As we are a homeschool of 1, there is generally only me and my son searching the neighborhood for these clues.

But if you had more than one child why not take it in turn to find the next clue? If you are a competitive family why not see who crosses them off first?

There are 2 ways you can play this:

Younger kids can enjoy spotting the images and crossing each one off as they see it.

Older children can turn this into a photo scavenger hunt. When they see the image shown let them snap a photo of it.

Why not make the hunt even more exciting with prizes for the winner? This Exploring Nature Activity Book for Kids would be perfect, especially if you are trying to encourage them to get outside!

Getting fresh air and walking definitely help with my son’s ADHD and I honestly think that is the main reason we rock homeschooling!!

Although it is easier to go for walks in the winter in South Florida. The summer months are brutal, but we still make time. Normally first thing in the morning before breakfast, and just before bedtime.
